Regina

My name is Regina Tromp-Pruyn there has never been a day in my life without dogs (how lucky am I).

My first sighthound was a present of my husband an Afghan Hound, bought out of the newspaper ad. His name was Khyber and captured my heart from the moment I lay my eyes on him. I wanted to know everything about this dog, this breed, the sighthound. That is how it all started...

My eager to know everything about this exotic animal made me an judge for all Sighthounds, half Sighthounds and Tibetan breeds, gave me the privilege to judge at special shows all over the world and lay my hands on some of the best & history of our breeds.

After selling my sport school, there was enough time to fulfill a huge desire to breed, as a judge I had the honor to have my hands on many interesting and great Afghan Hounds around the world and could evaluate their bloodlines over the years. I couldn’t understand why Afghan Hound breeders, back in the days, didn’t cooperate together more. Every type had his or hers own planet and didn’t dare even look further or even left or right.

Our first litter was born in 1997, together with my daughter Faye, we bred only 15 litters so far under the prefix Popovs, almost 50 Champions Worldwide and 3 UK Champions.

Along the way 3 exceptional Salukies joined our life and 5 Lhasa Apso’s.
